Obama releases interrogation memos

The Obama administration has released four internal CIA memos detailing interrogation techniques used on terrorism suspects during the Bush years, CNN reports.

The president pledged to work to ensure the actions described in the memos “never take place again.”

Israel denies plan to ’strike’ Iran

In a meeting with U.S. mideast envoy George Mitchell, Israeli President Shimon Peres called plans to strike Iran “nonsense,” the Jerusalem Post reports.
Peres was quoted Sunday saying, “we’ll strike him,” if Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad refused to back down from his nuclear ambitions.
